Movie Review: Terminator Salvation

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

Let the Terminator reviews begin. Why I'm starting with the latest one? I have no idea.

So let's begin...

The Story:

I enjoyed the story. I thought it was creative and I did not see this hybrid Terminator story coming. I pretty much foll

owed all of the production news until its release and I didn't find much on the story because it was so under-wraps. But, in my opinion, it turned out great. Many people don't agree, but I loved it.

The Actors:

Sam Worthington is probably the biggest rising star of today. Terminator, Avatar, and Clash of the Titans all within a year. Interestingly enough, James Cameron created the Terminator and director the first two films and then Sam Worthington starred in this and also starred in Avatar which James also direct. I wonder what Terminator-like conversations they had.

Christian Bale as John Connor... I wasn't sure about it when I first heard that he would

portray the post-apocalyptic leader and I'm still kind of indifferent about it. I guess I'll deal. Personally, I think he over acts.

I loved the ladies in this movie. Kate Connor, portrayed by Bryce Dallas Howard, and Blair Williams, portrayed by Moon Bloodgood. I enjoyed both of them. Bryce Dallas Howard is gorgeous with red hair (I really hated her blonde in Spider-Man 3). And I love this new character Blair... I hope her character sticks around for the remainder of the series.

And finally comments on Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese. He was perfectly cast. I can totally see him growing into Michael Biehn. Loved him.

The Filming:

So McG directed this film. And people hate him apparently. I even heard some boycotted this film solely because he directed it. He also directed Charlie's Angels and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle which is more of a comedic action movie. This one is more action and I think he did a great job.

If you haven't heard Christian Bale's on-set rant, then click here. It's worth a listen. I admit, I hate Christian Bale a little more because of this. What an ass. It also gave the movie bad publicity.

Arnold's "cameo" was not half bad. You can tell that he was CGI, but DAMN! He was pretty damn realistic!

The References to Previous Terminators:

This movie does a great job of referring to the earlier Terminators. Here are some of the ones I caught (or related to the other movies):

-The Terminator Head Turn: Whenever a Terminator gets punched or hit (whether it's Arnold, the T-1000, TX, or the T-800 as an exoskeleton) they slowly turn their head back to the center.

-Shots of the T-800 exoskeleton walking up the stairs as seen in the first Terminator.

-Music: The dun dun dun dun dun-dun. Lol. Obviously that came back, but not as much as I wanted it to. Also, when John Connor is trying to capture the motoTerminator, he plays the song he plays while riding his motorcycle in the second one to get the motoTerminator's attention.

-"Come with me if you want to live."

-"I'll be back." I liked that John Connor said it this time.

-John Connor uses the tapes that his mom made for him in the first one.

-They try to use molten lava to destroy the T-800.

The Future of the Series:

What sucks about this series is that it is sooo spaced out. 1984 -> 1991 -> 2003 -> 2009 and now they don't know when the next one will be released. The rights to the films keep floating around everywhere and being sold off. This movie was supposed to be the first in a new trilogy and I'm concerned that it won't end up turning out that way.

Another concern of mine is whether the actors will stick around. I hate that the characters keep changing. I'm good with this cast. I'm tired of John Connor changing. We've been through 6 Johns as it is (including those from the TV series) and after Bale's rant I'm afraid he won't want to return. Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Moon Bloodgood are the ones I want to come back the most. The only thing is that Anton needs to age a little more before he gets sent back in time (to the first film).

If they could work it out somehow... I'd like Sam Worthington to come back too. But more than likely they won't or he won't want to return because he's a bigger star now.

Terminator Salvation Overall:

I loved this movie. I suggest seeing the Director's Cut. Definitely a movie, in my opinion, worthing of the Terminator name! :)

Movie Review: Live Free or Die Hard

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

Out of the four 'Die Hard' movies, it's sad to say (but expected at the same time) that this was my least favorite. But that doesn't mean it didn't have its plus sides.

The biggest downfall for me was that it was rated PG-13. What I liked about the other movies, is that they were made in the 80s/90s and they didn't care about their audience. So they were rated R. Nowadays, all studios care about is the money and getting people into theaters while we're in this economic crisis (which I guess makes sense... boo!). But all good action movies (Die Hard, True Lies, Terminator, Con Air) swear throughout. Plus this film didn't have the amount of violence/gore as the other one.

That's my biggest downfall. I felt like the action was too contained. It wasn't R-rated action, though which is what the others were. Although... the coolest action scene was the cop car to the copter. Awesome!

In my Die Hard: With A Vengeance review I discussed my thoughts on John McClaine having a side kick. The same applies here. I just felt Justin Long was a little out of place in the action movie. Typical he would play a nerd. I just didn't care for his presence much. Stick to comedy my friend.

I also mentioned in my last review that I liked how these movies constantly reference the past movies. Thankfully, that didn't change much in this sequel. :)

The story was as expected. Since the previous movie was made in 95 and this one was 07, what is the biggest change between these years? Technology. More specifically internet and hacking. John has saved a building, an airplane, and basically New York City. Naturally, next he'd have to deal with an internet related problem. So I'm indifferent when it comes to the main story. Something I do hate is that his daughter is involved and kidnapped. Cliché. Seriously.

Finally, I didn't care for the death of the villain. What John McCaine did was heroic and all, but really...? Simply shooting a guy through yourself? No one wants that. They want them to fall, blow up, be crushed, run over, sliced in half, etc. Shooting the guy through yourself doesn't cut it with me.

The next sequel is expected to be released in 2012. They've got some major work to do. Let's work on the R rating please. That's a tradition I miss.

Movie Review: Die Hard: With A Vengeance

Yippee Ki Yay Mother Fucker!

Really, Die Hard? You're going to give John McClaine a side kick? Furthermore, you're going to make Samuel L. Jackson his side kick? Really?

It was a good movie. Fun to watch.

I don't like that it took place in New York City. Like, I could see that happening, but the city is so crazy as it is... it gets rather confusing when you add craziness to an already crazy city.

When the bad guys started taking over, I just got confused. When the train incident in the subway happened and all the commotion around that, it's got confusing. But 30 minutes later I understood.

Another problem I have with this movie is the racism. Really? Was that really necessary. Why does Samuel L. Jackson always play a racist. It was very irritating.

And then, the bad guy. Who's the bad guy in this one? The BROTHER of the villain in the first one. Really? You're going to play the 'brother seeking revenge' card, are you? Lame. That's just showing how desperate you are for a story. If you need to use that card, then you probably shouldn't make the movie. At least until you have something more solid. The only thing I like about this series (as in when it refers to previous movies from the series) is that John McClaine is well known for what he did in the first one and that doesn't help in certain situations. It's brought up numerous times in Die Hard 2 and this film.

Next on my agenda is to review the 4th one...

Mulan in Live-Action 3D? Yes, please!

It's like Christmas in July!!

Disney announced that it will be investing $100 million into a live-action version of the animated film Mulan, and it will be released in 3D (big shocker there).

Zhang Ziyi (from Memoirs of a Geisha) will be producing and portraying the title character.

Alice in Wonderland, Malificent, Cinderella, and now this going live action? Yay!

I should mention that Mulan is one my my favorite Disney movies. Right up there with Beauty and the Beast and The Emperor's New Groove. And I'm happy that it's getting the recognition it deserves. People don't think it's as amazing as The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Cinderella, although Mulan is considered part of the Disney Renaissance.

Movie Review: Jaws 3D

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

As you may know, my family lives and breathes Jaws. The first one that is. The following ones are just fun to watch and make fun of.

Until today, I have never seen the third movie in the series. Why? Because I've heard nothing but terrible things, it takes place at an amusement park, and it has nothing to do with the original story or characters.

I was wrong.

Up until today, I thought that the characters and story had nothing to do with the other movies but they do! The main character is actually Mike Brody... and Sean shows up too!

Turns out this movie is not that bad. Somethings were kind of lame, but I expected it. It was fun to watch.

Dennis Quaid is where the first problem is. I'm sorry, but I just don't see him as Mike Brody. Dennis Quaid is one of those actors with a very distinct voice and face and I don't think - given what the 3 other actors portraying Mike Brody look like - that he was the right choice. He just doesn't flow with the other actors. The guy portraying Sean was fine... he was not anyone famous and he looked like he could've been Sean.

The second problem with this movie is it's "3D." This is not 3D. This is an image that doesn't move, coming towards the screen. It was lame and cheap. And it all would've been way better if it just wasn't 3D. Like, I would like the movie more!

Otherwise the movie was pretty decent.

Saw 3D - The Final Saw...

Great trailer.

But the last Saw? Really.

I was told long ago that the series was meant to be eight films. Like the story was to be told over eight movies. Now it's ending at seven? Okay, I guess I can deal with that. (I still have to see V and VI, but shhh don't tell anyone!!)

Next problem... 3D?! Really? What are you trying to be? ...The Final Destination? Let's make a finale and have it be 3D. This is too much for me. And why is it called Saw 3D? That's confusing. You know, Jaw 3D was conveniently the third and only 3D film in the series. So now there's going to be Saw, II, III, IV, V, VI, and 3D. Dumb.

In my opinion, the movie should be titled: Saw - The Finale in 3D. Kind of lame, but that's what you get for ending the series sooner than scheduled.

I'm starting to love Comic-Con! All the good info comes out. Haha.

Above are the new character posters for Sucker Punch by Zack Snyder (the director of 300, Watchmen, and Dawn of the Dead). I don't really care for Zack Snyder because he creates stupid cult films. But I do love Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) and Emily Browning (A Series of Unfortunate Events). Perhaps I'll see the movie.

The Haunted Mansion is being REMADE! :)

All I can say is: THANK GOD!!

Following the major success of the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Disney immediately green-lit a film based on another classic and extremely popular attraction in their theme parks: The Haunted Mansion.

It sucked.

The film, starring Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Tilly as the woman with her head in the globe, cost $90 million to make and they only brought in $76 million domestically. However, it did bring in an extra $106 million overseas so it's grand total came to $182 million. I'd consider that a major flop in my opinion. Especially when the first Pirates did over $600 million.

The movie wasn't taken as seriously as it should've been. They put together a basic story, brought it a well-known comedian, and filmed a non-scary movie. It was lame. And the comedy of the film overpowered the terror. Which it shouldn't have. The film needs to be scary. The Haunted Mansion attraction is Disney's one-uping the common amusement park's haunted house. It's a million times better.

Well... twist in the story right here... Guillermo del Toro (who turned down The Hobbit and filmed such movies as The Hellboy movies and the amazing Pan's Labyrinth) will be producing the film on top of WRITING and DIRECTING! YES! He announced this at Comic-Con after promotions for TRON: Legacy.

This is such good news. If you haven't seen his movies, expect this new Haunted Mansion to be good! ...and pretty creepy. His monsters are pretty strange. I knew that this movie would eventually be remade, but I didn't think it would be this soon or have this director attached.

Good job Disney, you're now starting to seem less money focused you greedy bastards! Just kidding. :) Just make sure you make the mansion the Disney World one. I'm not fond of Disneyland's. It's not as creepy!

Now if only they would get to work on Jungle Cruise. They said it was going to be made and I read that probably 7 years ago when Pirates one came out. Go ahead, search it. Go to IMDb.com and search "Jungle Cruise." The first thing listed will be Jungle Cruise (2012). Trust me, don't count on it coming out by then. They've been pushing the date back for years!

M. Night is Feisty!

Movie Review: Remember Me

What a great movie!! Like, OMG! Cried like a baby, I did!

Beware of spoilers in this post. I'm not even joking. I spoiled the movie for myself and, now, I wish I hadn't so don't continue reading if you haven't seen it. I'm not kidding!

Wow.

First, Robert Pattinson. Wow. I was impressed. He was so intense during some scenes like when he confronted his father in the board room. Or like when he dropped his sister off at school and the little bitch made a comment and he scared the SHIT out of her! I would do the exact same thing for my sister and I'm not kidding. The only difference it I don't have a rich dad that would bail me out whenever I randomly go bazerk!

I also enjoyed Emilie de Ravin. This is the first thing I have seen her in outside of "Lost." I officially love her. The chemistry between these two was so believable. I'd also like to commend these two on their American accents. For being a Brit and an Australian... they were pretty damn good Americans.

I kind of feel bad for Chris Cooper though. The only thing he gets hired for is to play the asshole dad or employer. He's good at it, but if her really were a good actor, he'd be able to play the nice guy and I'd love to see that. Pierce Brosnan, who we usually see as the good guy (I mean... he was James Bond), played the absent father in this movie and he was great too! So bravo.

Finally, that adorable little girl! She is SOOO adorable and a great little actress. She should've played Abigail Breslin's character in Definitely, Maybe. She would've been better! But yeah, she was so cute and I hope she'll be in a lot more! When the little bitches in her class cut her hair off, I nearly cried! :(

This is where you really need to stop reading if you haven't seen this movie because I will be giving away the very ending of the movie. So, stop!

Before the movie came out I researched the movie and found out the ending. Now that I've seen the movie, I wish I hadn't. They did a very good job making the audience think that the story took place in present day. Since I spoiled the ending, I spent most of the movies looking for clues that gave away the September 11th ending and I only found a few...

American Pie 2 (which came out August 10th, 2001) was the movie they were watching in the theater. When Tyler is going up to his dad's office in the elevator, you can see the level display saying that they're up around the 90th level. How many buildings go that high? ...There was one more I noticed, but I can't remember what it was. :(

I'm glad they didn't show the builidings getting hit by the planes. I think it would've been in poor taste if they did that. It was more dramatic the way they did it; we just needed to assume. We all remember that day (minus the idiot Twilighters who went to see "the Robert Pattinson movie." I do wish they showed a little more commotion on the ground. They showed only a couple shots. They just needed a couple more... in my opinion that is.

For those of you who haven't seen the movie and are still reading at this point... your loss. You'll regret it. It really was an amazing movie. I cried like a baby and if I hadn't spoiled the ending for myself, I would've cried even more! Can't wait to buy it and see it again!

Movie Review: The Bounty Hunter

I found this movie to be very similar to Taxi with Queen Latifah and Jimmy Fallon and Bringing Down the House with the Queen again and Steve Martin.

How?

They attempt to balance humor and action. Usually the humor overpowers the action and makes the action seem random. And that's what happened with this movie.

This movie was still pretty hilarious although 95% of the funny scenes were in the trailer.

Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston I can totally see as a couple. Jennifer is hilarious and extremely sexy! ;) I also like that the chick from the Grinch and "The Good Wife" was in this movie -Jennifer's mother. She was pretty funny too!

Regardless of the imperfect balance of comedy and action, this movie is still very good and I intend on buying it!

I'M NOT A CREEPER!

Inception's 'Kick' to the Top

If you've seen the movie, then you know what I mean by kick.

Inception made it's debut at the top of the box office opening weekend as expected. It brought in $60,400,000 domestically and an extra $15,600,000 internationally. That's pretty damn good.

Not only did it triumph at the box office, but on IMDb's Top 250 Movies list, it skyrocketed overnight. Last night, before I went to see the movie and I was just researching it, it was #83. Today, it hit #3 on the list passing The Godfather: Part II, Pulp Fiction, Toy Story 3, Schindler's List and all of the Star Wars films. The only two movies it hasn't topped (yet) are The Shawshank Redemption and The Godfather at the number one and two spots respectively. That's awesome!

The Stupid-Funny Movie ™

I'd like to introduce a new type of movie. I've dubbed it the "Stupid-Funny Movie."

This is a movie that is entertaining and hilarious while being incredibly stupid and pointless.

I find that most of these movies are those featuring members of the 'Frat Pack' and movies that spoof other movies.

If you don't know already, the Frat Pack was a nickname given to a group of actors with hit comedy movies from the late 90s to today. The members include Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Jack Black, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, and Steve Carell.

To get a better understanding of the term, here are some examples of those I consider 'stupid-funny':

Retro Review: Land of the Lost

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

This is what I like to call a "Stupid-Funny Movie."

The movie was incredibly stupid, but at the same time it was quite amusing and hilarious.

This movie is based of the very old television series of the same name. I somewhat remember reruns of this show, but nothing more than dinosaurs walking around.

Will Ferrell is an actor I'm not particularly fond of. I don't quite always get his humor. Like Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby was the biggest piece of crap movie I have ever seen. I didn't laugh I single time. It's strictly for red-necks. There's only one movie of Will Ferrell's that I actually like that comes to mind: Blades of Glory (note: I haven't seen Elf yet.)

The co-stars, Anna Friel and Danny McBride, I enjoyed. She was very pretty and he was rather funny with Will Ferrell. The apeman, Chaka, was kind of creeping me out.

The whole Today show thing was hilarious with Matt Lauer. Makes me laugh every time.

Oddly, I think that if they were to have taken this movie a little more seriously, it could've been something decent. Basically, if they got rid of Will Ferrell and the humor that surrounds him, this could've been an epic movie.

I still enjoyed it though and, surprisingly, I own it. Worth a watch, but don't expect much.

....and watch out for the mosquito scene. It's kind of nasty!

Movie Review: Die Hard 2

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

Well, they did an office building... so obviously the next thing on the todo list was airport.

✓ Check!

Very entertaining movie. How Bruce Willis manages to stay alive is beyond me.

One thing I particularly like was that the entire cast returned. John McClaine, his wife, the cop in LA that was in Family Matters, and the asshole reporter. Bonus!: we get future "NYPD Blue" star Dennis Franz.

The action was intense! The icicle through the eye made me turn away from the screen. And the guy who got his throat cut. Eeeek.

I did not see that twist coming when the army turned out to be bad. I was watching the clock on the DVD player and it said there was still an hour left and I couldn't understand how when the army was on it's way to beat the bad guys! Guess not.

Next, I need to rent Die Hard with a Vengeance and Live Free or Die Hard. What I'm not looking forward to in Vengeance is that his wife is not in the movie (although I do not know the circumstances yet such as a death but there's a 95% chance it's a divorce). And I'm not looking forward to the fact that Live Free or Die Hard is PG-13... That really pisses me off. It's going to be more conservative and that means less "fucks." Boo. :(

Movie Review: Inception

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

This movie was fucking amazing! I don't even know where to begin!

Let's start with the story. Wow. Christopher Nolan is one brilliant man. It was so complex, but understandable at the same time. This is one of those movies that you may want to see twice, but only to validate your knowledge of what happened. And to enjoy it a second time. ;)

But Nolan has made nothing but brilliant movies (that I know of anyways). Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Prestige, Memento, and now this! Both directing and writing these movies.

To those who have yet to see this movie, I will give you the following advice: Don't be discouraged by the first fifteen minutes of the movie. It confused the hell out of me. Try to focus, but also try to enjoy it.

Now moving from the story / director to the cast. This casting director, whoever they may be, is a genius. Basically, they gathered a group of Oscar nominees that are using this film as a possible step closer to their Oscar. Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Tom Berenger [and director/writer Christopher Nolan falls into this Oscar Nominated category]. Marion Cotillard and Michael Caine both actually received O

scars.

We see Leonardo DiCaprio in another serious role. Give the guy an Oscar already.

Ellen Page was delightful so watch. I haven't seen her since Juno and she has improved so much. She was perfect for the role and I liked that they had someone young on the "team."

Marion Cotillard scared the crap out of me. Every scene she was in (or when we were supposed to anticipate her presence), I expected her to pop out. Her character was absolutely insane.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt was awesome! I'm sorry, but now I just can't see anyone else playing the Riddler in the next Batman movie. He needs that role. It's his. At the same time I'm still trying to get used to seeing him as an adult. He's been one for some time now, but I still picture him as the kid in Angels in the Outfield, "3rd Rock from the Sun", and 10 Things I Hate About You.

The effects were awesome. I'm a real sucker for visual effects (hence why The Day After Tomorrow is on of my favorite movies). I think the scene that blew me away the most was the hallway fighting scene with Joseph Gordon-Levitt. It was so awesome... they were flying around, slamming against walls, spinning in the middle of the air. Awesome. I also really liked when the city started folding over. It looked so real! They did a really good job. Like I said in one of my tweets last week: "Inception looks like a photoshopper's wet dream." Haha.

Now time for something that pissed me off. That stupid ending. I'm not talking about the climax of the film (which, by the way, was the last hour and a half of the film no joke). I'm talking about the last 10-ish seconds of footage. I hate movies that are like that. It was like the post-credits scene from X-Men: The Last Stand when the chess piece fell over last second. Except in this movie, the spinning top continued to spin as the shot cut. Are we to assume that it would never fall because it seemed like it was starting to. This brings me to my last comments...

The possibility of a sequel is there. It would be tough to create, however I think it's quite possible and I'm interested in them pursuing it. Only if it is done correctly like the Batman films. Basically, I want to see Ellen Page and Joseph Gordon-Levitt again in the leading roles. :)

If you haven't made plans to see this movie, you definitely need to. People cheered at the end when the credits began to roll. Not many movies have that kind of response. I've only seen a few: Avatar, Toy Story 3, and all Harry Potters. ;) Go see this movie! You won't be disappointed!!

It's Official: I'm Getting the iPhone 4

After much deliberation and research, I have decided that I will be buying the iPhone in the next week or so despite it's "problems."

I watched Apple's July 16th Press Release and since they're giving out free cases, 30-day full refunds, and their research seemed pretty solid, I decided I want to make the purchase.

I'm not going to wait for the white iPhone though. It's supposed to be released at the end of July. What's funny is I would usually go for something like that because it's so unique and different, but I think I'll just stick with black. Typical. :)

Helping Gaga

If you haven't heard, and you probably haven't, there's a race to be the Most-Watched Video on YouTube. The competitors: Justin Bieber's music video for "Baby" (currently at 247,783472 views) and Lady Gaga's music video for "Bad Romance (currently at 246,485,999 views).

If you know like even at all, you know I HATE Justin Bieber. Okay, I like Eenie Meenie featuring Sean Kingston, but that's it. I hate his hair, I hate his age, I hate his fans, I hate the hype that surrounds him. And I love Bad Romance. ;)

So I'm helping the cause and putting my votes in for Gaga. Watch "Bad Romance" below to add a view. After all, "Bad Romance" is one of the greatest songs ever. Lol. I'm not kidding. 8 months after it's release and I still have it on my car CD and FAVS playlist on my iPod. ...and that's saying something.

Movie Review: It's Complicated

Thank god it ended on a happy note because I was starting to worry there.

This movie wasn't particularly aimed at my audience. I could tell when I wasn't finding the humorous scenes that funny. I did enjoy it though!

John Krasinski stole the movie for me. He was hilarious the entire time!

Meryl Streep was very good and funny. Steve Martin was his usual self. And Alec Baldwin was... eh.

But in all honesty, I expected more. I heard so many good things about the movie and how hilarious it was. Maybe I was expecting too much. ...I hate it when I do that! But still it was a good movie and it's worth a watch.

Movie Review: Eclipse

Well, I finally saw it (illegally on the internet so it was poor picture and sound), but I saw it and I must say that I agree with the critics when they say it's the best one yet. It really is, and, yes, that's coming from ME!

I'm surprised that Bella did not change her mind and turn to Jacob. Just watching this movie and listening to the arguments of why she should go with him would've convinced me! I didn't hear any pluses for Edward's side.

Because I haven't read the books (although I did attempt), I get rather confused with the story. My main question is why is everyone after Bella? I know Victoria is because she wants to kill her so Edward can feel her pain since he killed James. So does that mean that she was using this Riley tool to create an army to find her? Did I just answer my own question? I dunno.

I like that Bryce Dallas Howard is the new Victoria. Nobody really knows her, but she played Gwen Stacy is Spider-Man 3 and Kate Connor in Terminator Salvation. Many probably didn't even know that they replaced the actress portraying her. Let's be honest, the curly red hair is the only thing we use to identify her. But I'm glad her storyline is over. She was chasing Bella for 3 damn movies, she had to go.

I liked the background stories slash flashbacks for Rosalie and Jasper. More-so Rosalie. They finally explain why she's a raging bitch.

The action in the movie was great. It also got pretty violent with the beheading and dismembering. I liked it. :)

I also liked the tent conversation between Jacob and Edward. I'm sorry, but I'm really sick and tired of this hatred of each other. Bella chose Edward, so Jacob... back off and Edward... stop gloating. And Bella... stop cheating and flirting with both of them like a common whore!

And finally, I love Dakota Fanning. I will stand by her forever! She is one of the greatest actresses ever to walk this Earth.

Now I just have to sit through two more of these stupid movies before this "saga" is over. It better not ruin Harry's thunder when Deathly Hallows Parts I and II come out within the year! I'll be pissed. Yay Harry!

If Sarah Connor got a third season...

Sometimes I hate television. It cancels the best shows. They keep shows like One Tree Hill going after dropping two of its most important characters and loses viewers, but cancels shows like Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles after it has a promising second season and season finale.

I understand that not many people watched because you really need to like the movies to have the urge to watch and understand the show. Lucky for me, I love the Terminator series. All four movies.

I was disappointed to hear that it was cancelled, but I guess I saw it coming. Because of the writer's strike, the first season was cut down to like 11 episodes or something like that, so it wasn't a very strong first season. Luckily, Fox picked them up for a second season and they had a full season. Then, even after the epic, cliffhanging season finale, they decide to cancel it. Boo.

I heard then that it was in talks to be picked up by the Syfy network, but that never happened. Now there's rumors that it will be released in a direct-to-DVD movie. As much as I would LOVE that, I don't see it happening. :(

I stumbled across an article today that reveals what would have happened in the third season, according to Thomas Dekker aka John Connor. It's worth a read. Some of it would've been really interesting to see!

They're actually filming Transformers 3 this weekend in Chicago on Michigan Ave. So cool!

Movie Review: The Crazies

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

Holy. Crap. This was some freaky shit.

But, yet, some of it is just freaking hilarious.

"Did Peter call?" Haha.

Sadly I've seen this storyline before, but in different movies: people act crazy (The Happening), become zombie-like (Zombieland), running from a virus (I Am Legend), blowing up the city in the end to stop of the spread (AVP:R - Alien vs. Predator: Requiem). See.

It was still entertaining though, from what I saw of it… (I was scared ;)

Typical that everyone dies except the main two. To bad Danielle Panabaker died. :( I did, however, enjoy seeing Timothy Olyphant in a major role. He doesn't deserve a blockbuster (quite yet), but I'm glad he got to star in his own horror movie. That's a step in the right direction.

The movie was entertaining and quite scary so I recommend seeing it, if that's your thing.

Retro Review: Jaws 2

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

I do not support the continuation of this series past the original, but this one was entertainment.

The story was typical. There's not much you can do when your antagonist is a shark. Obviously the story has to be in the ocean and the only thing it can really do to you is attack you. To progress the story from the original was aging the characters. It's amazing though that this movie was released about 4 years after the original and the characters seemed to have aged 10. Chief Brody looks much older along with his wife. Sean looks like he is maybe 5 years older, but acts like he's a single year old. And finally, Michael, who in the first movie looked maybe 11, now looked at least 18. They never say how much time has past.

With the HUGE amount of money they made with the first one, you'd think they'd upgrade the shark. At least make it's mouth close… No. The shark looks even more fake and disappointing. Yes, it's head gets a little more movement but that's the only thing is the 'GOOD' section of the shark.

The movie also lacks something. The first one had this realistic feel about it. It had instances that made it seem real whereas this one, in my opinion, was just made to be made and everything's as per script and routine. Typical sequel, just entertainment.

Movie Review: Percy Jackson - The Lightning Thief

I really, really enjoyed this movie, but one thing it lacked in was originality. Throughout the entire movie I just compared it to the Harry Potter series, and if you didn't already know, the director of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Chris Columbus, also directed this film.

...I really tried not to make the comparisons and it's not completely the director's fault. But really?

While watching the movie, I came up with a ton of other similarities, but right now I can't think of any. :(

So anyways, I enjoyed the movie. It was decent. The beginning felt rushed. And you could tell that this was written by a guy with the training and fighting and battling and whatnot.

The book (not the movie) was published by Disney. Now I just need to bash Disney for 5 seconds. Everybody thinks so highly of Disney and I love to tear it down. Disney just wants to have a series they can make money off of and it doesn't even need to be original. Harry Potter and Percy Jackson are SO similar. Disney has also done this with A Bug's Life (after Antz was released), The Wild (after Madagascar was released), etc. Too bad Disney didn't back the movie to rake in even more money to their cash-crazed company.

The movie was kind of cheesy at times and I feel that if they were to have made it PG-13, then it would've been amazing! Although, I thought it should of been PG-13 just the way it was. Some of that stuff was pretty intense and graphic. How many things were beheaded in that movie? More than 10 if you count the Hydra + Medusa.

The black best friend was very funny! I enjoyed Uma as Medusa. Pierce as a centaur with that funny accent was weird.... stick to the british, bud. The final battle with Luke on top of the building was too The Incredible Hulk. The effects were decent. Blood was good, could've been a little more bloody. But overall, good movie!

Guys & Boardshorts

Every single time I go on vacation I get pissed. Why? Because some guys wear their boardshorts stupidly.

The image to the left shows how they should properly be worn.

Now, you don't necessarily need to wear boxers underneath these. In fact, it's sexier not to. But if you are thin or are wearing a pair of white boardshorts which make them see-through, then you need to wear boxers or boxer briefs or whatever underneath.

HOWEVER, you don't want people to know that you're wearing anything underneath. Nobody wants to know that you're wearing your everyday underwear in the pool. So, the waist band of you underwear should NEVER EVER EVER be seen! 1, it's gross. 2, it's sexier to think you not wearing anything underneath. 3, you need to be able to wear your suit LOW. People like to see your 'V' like me. ;)

Plus, it makes me think you're a low-life if I can see your underwear... apparently you can't afford a suit that fits properly.

So guys, do the right thing. Take em off or keep em hidden.

The Future Begins...

Both Star Trek and Terminator Salvation were released in May 2009 (May 8th and May 21st respectively).

When Terminator Salvation, the fourth Terminator movie and the first in a new trilogy set in post-apocalyptic America, it's official title was Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. As it's release date drew closer, Star Trek's release and advertising campaign forced Terminator to drop it's subtitle. This is because Star Trek's slogan/tagline was also "The Future Begins."

So, Terminator Salvation dropped its subtitle and made it's slogan/tagline "The End Begins."

That is just STUPID!

"The End Begins?" Yes, that makes sense, but that tagline can be used for practically any movie one way or another. What's incredibly dumb is that "The Future Begins" makes 1,000 times more sense for Terminator Salvation... because the first 3 movies they talk about nothing but the future and trying to prevent it and now they're in the future and they can't say that the future is finally beginning.

Star Trek on the other hand is the 10th sequel in the series (whether you'd like to admit it or not: it is a sequel), so it has already established that it takes place in the future. So... it's already begun... it's not just beginning like Terminator 4.

Whether Terminator Salvation's existence is even necessary is not a part of this argument, so don't even go there.

So, Terminator Salvation should've been able to keep its subtitle and Star Trek can suck it! >:0

Although, I love Star Trek! ;)

Beauty and the Beast is coming again!

I knew Disney's version of Beauty and the Beast was making a return to living rooms across America, but what I wasn't sure was in what way. Because of this stupid limbo area between DVD and Blu-ray that we're in, I wasn't positive if it would be released on DVD or just Blu-ray or on DVD and Blu-ray or in a DVD-Blu-ray combo pack. Good news, it's coming back in all three ways. The iffy part is the DVD-Blu-ray combo pack...

As a DVD collector, I'm very extremely picky when it comes to the conditions and looks of my DVD cases. For example, I would buy a crappy movie in the 2-Disc Edition (like Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer), which is more expensive than the single-disc, if the cover art is prettier. That's right, I bought Rise of the Silver Surfer at about $25. Who does that? That movie sucked. Something's wrong with me.

Anyways, Disney has gotten into the habit of releasing "Diamond Editions." So far Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the only film to be released in a Diamond Edition with Beauty and the Beast being the next in October, followed by Fantasia & Fantasia 2000 in December, and Bambi and The Lion King set for next year.

Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Pinocchio, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book, and The Little Mermaid are also Platinum Disney movies that will all be released in a Diamond Edition by 2016. Did you notice that Aladdin, also being a Platinum Disney movie, is not included in that list? I don't know why, but it is not planned to be a Diamond Edition and there is no plan for it's rerelease at the present time. I've searched everywhere and can't find out why. If you know, then please let me know.

I'm sorry. I keep getting sidetracked and spewing random information at you...

Disney is an evil, evil company. They hold so much power with their movies and the Disney Vault. How mean. If I want to buy Aladdin on DVD right NOW, I'll have to do so on eBay because platinum edition movies are only released by Disney once every 10 years for a limited time. Evil. With the invention of Blu-ray, Disney has begun releasing the Diamond Edition which includes a DVD copy of the film and a Blu-ray copy. That's fine. But that's the only way to get the movie. They menacingly will release the 2-Disc DVD version of the movie a month and a half after the Diamond Edition. They're just trying to make people pay $29.99 for the Diamond Edition before they release the $22.99 2-Disc DVD version. Plus, I think they're trying to covert people to Blu-ray, which I don't support.

Okay, if they want to release a Diamond Edition and then the 2-Disc nearly two months later then fine, but the Diamond Editions are also evil for DVD collectors like myself. The Diamond Editions thankfully are released in two different cases: the Blu-ray packaging and the DVD packaging. You know how Blu-ray movies come in the blue cases that are smaller and thinner than regular DVD cases? That's what they mean by 'packaging.' I'm so happy that the movie will be released like the Snow White Diamond Edition in the DVD packaging. All I want is the case to look like all the rest of my DVDs in my collection. So there, I had something nice to say about Disney.

Beauty and the Beast's Diamond Edition is set for an October 5th release and the 2-Disc will be released November 23rd.

Also... and more importantly...

Beauty and the Beast will be rereleased into theaters in 3D in 2011!
