New Obsession: Tiki Resort

My latest obsession is the Facebook game Tiki Resort.

It pisses me off because I always get sucked into these stupid games on Facebook. Mafia Wars, Café World, Fishville, Yoville, Farmville, Social City, Baseball Tycoon, Island Paradise, Roller Coaster Kingdom, PetVille.... Ugh, it never ends and they always suck me in.

This one is different. There's no farm-like qualities. Like having to click each individual piece of land or a stove to get what you want. That's the one thing that makes me mad: having to click everything multiple times. And pop-ups.

Basically you just create buildings and wait for them to make money and keep upgrading them. That's really it. =/

Don't ask me why I'm hooked. I just am.

What the fuck is a Snooki?!

I've never seen this Jersey Shore show and I don't plan to. I don't know where they came from but all of a sudden, everything is Jersey Shore. Snooki this, "The Situation" that, everybody's having Jersey Shore parties, everybody's doing the "Snooki" hairdo!

Apparently, it's like MTV's the Real World, but it takes place on... well... the Jersey Shore. 8 housemates live together and have sex and get wasted on a regular basis. The Real World is exactly the same, except they have 7 housemates and they're required to get a job together. So the Real World cast is somewhat responsible. Somewhat.

All these kids are watching it which I think is horrible. I'm not normally the type that goes against content in television shows (I think the responsibility relies on the parents), but MTV knows only 12 year olds watch that channel. Cast members have gotten arrested on that show and it's created all types of controversy regarding Italians.

These kids aren't even attractive!!! I don't get it. I never will.

Movie Review: How to Train Your Dragon

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

I loved this movie. I did NOT expect much from it, but it was so good. And I saw it in 3D and it was spectacular.

At this point, I shouldn't be surprised when odd looking DreamWorks movies become hits. Shrek, Madagascar (which I didn't care for actually), Kung Fu Panda (which I also didn't care for), Monsters vs. Aliens, Flushed Away!! But this one... I mean what an odd title. How to train your dragon.... Strange.

But anyways, this kid lives with Vikings that kill dragons and he finds and injured dragon and take care of it and then... trains it. Go figure. Then he makes the Vikings think that he's really good with taming dragons when he's supposed to be fighting and killing them. The villagers don't care for the kid and think he's a rockstar when he knows how to calm them. Idk.

Then the cliché scenario of a father who doesn't listen finding out what his son has been hiding, gets upset, goes off and gets into trouble, and then the kid saves everyone and proves the dad wrong. Oh and the dad is Gerard Butler. ;) Haha.

It's a really good movie and I highly recommend it. And see it in 3D too! The previews before the movie were even in 3D!!

I originally joined Disney Movie Club to buy Ducktales: The Movie - The Treasure of the Lost Lamp because it was the only place on the planet you can buy that movie and planned to delete my account, but I decided to stick with it. (But also because when you sign up, you agree to purchase 6 movies at full price which is like $19.95 or $21.95.) But when you purchase a movie at full price, the rest of the full price ones become half off or something good. It's really nice.

Purchasing Disney movies at Target or Walmart is a rip off because they're never on sale (the good ones, the classic.) Plus, when you sign up, you get four movies of your choice for $1.99, one for $14.95 and another for $9.95. That's six Disney movies for $30 plus free shipping for that order. It's great.

The downfall is that each month there is a "Feature Title" which is typically the newest Disney movie. For example, right now The Princess and the Frog is the feature title. Anyways, you need to respond before a certain time via phone or internet whether you want to accept it or not. If you forget to respond, then they send it to you anyways and charge it to your credit card without you knowing about it.

Like this month, I forgot to respond and while I was on vacation I purchased Princess and the Frog at Target. When I got home from vacation, DMC sent me another copy. Naturally, I threw out the Target receipt and couldn't find it, so now I'm in the company of two copies of the Princess and the Frog. Ugh. Whatever.

Another downfall is that they don't carry movies that are in the vault. So like "The Disney Classics" like Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, and Aladdin aren't always on there. Once every ten years my friends.

Anyways, I love Disney Movie Club. Last night I bought Tron, The Rescuers, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Flubber, and Honey I Blew Up the Kid. Hunchback was full price, which made the Rescuers half off and the other three were super savers. :) So consider joining!

Movie Review: Clash of the Titans

Warning: May contain spoilers. You've been warned.

This movie was.... AWESOME! And yes, I did see the original in high school. It's like non-stop action! Which may be it's downfall at the same time. I found that it was really short and it lacked downtime. It's only 1 hour and 40 minutes long. This movie was supposed to be epic as in 2.5+ hours. But besides that, it was a great movie. Great action, great graphics, great music, great actors (*cough* Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson *cough*)... (oh, and Voldemort *cough*). I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. Maybe 3.75. =/

Movie Review: The Last Song

So I'm never, ever reading a book before a movie comes out, ever again! The book ruined the movie for me. Lol. People usually say the complete opposite, but I'm sticking with this. I loved the book (and I actually read the book), but if I didn't read the book I wouldn't have anything to compare the film to.

Wait, let's back up. I liked the movie. I did. I will buy it when it comes out on DVD. Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend on-screen and off-screen were really cute together. Yes, Miley Cyrus wayyy over-acted, but it didn't bother me that much.

The problems that I had most with the movie were the fact that Pastor Harris was only in it for 5 seconds, I didn't feel that connected to her father so I didn't feel her pain when he died, and big scenes involving Blaze and Marcus were completely cut. I felt like the movie should've been longer, also.

If you didn't already know, the movie and book were written by Nicholas Sparks with Miley Cyrus already lined up to play the lead. Oh, the magic of Disney. ;)

Mark your calendars for April 22, 2010!

What's incredibly stupid and pisses me off is it is being released in the most basic and boring way. The Blu-ray and DVD will feature no fucking features!!

That's right. The menu and movie. That's it. First run that is. Apparently, it will be released in different editions in the future, but for now it's just the movie and the reason is that James Cameron wants to make space for the most optimal picture and sound and it's original 16:9 format.

This sucks. I don't want a plain, boring DVD and DVD case. Lame. I'll wait for the other editions. Or maybe I'll buy both. :)
