Jurassic Park May Be Rebooted

I did enjoy the third one, but I'd pick the Rex over Spino any day.

So rumor has it that the Jurassic Park series may be rebooted after years of wondering if a fourth one will ever be made.

Apparently, Steven Spielberg has been having secret meetings with a writer from I Am Legend to brainstorm ideas on how to reboot the series. It's possible that they're looking for a new storyline completely instead of redoing the first movie which is based off the book.

Personal thoughts…

Hmm… To be honest, I'm leaning more towards the sequel. The sequel, however must be very thought out. JP3 worked, but it seemed to be like a side story away from the main series. Personally, I would like another movie with John Hammond in it and I want the story to be around him and the science of the dinosaurs like the first two. Not something where people crash on one of the islands and need to escape. We have cell phones now… it's just not realistic anymore (and you can't use the no service, dead battery, or dropped in water excuses… that's cliché).

A reboot would work only because, by the time the movie is released, it'll be 10 years after the previous films release. Meaning that it follows my rebooting rule of 10 years between series. However, I feel as though making a reboot (or in other words a remake) of Jurassic Park is like remaking Jaws, Star Wars, or E.T. They're classics that shouldn't be messed with. For me, the reboot would have to have a completely different title in order to not be confused with the iconic original.

Thoughts?

Live-Action Pokémon Movie? Yes, please!

Watch the "trailer" below.

Yes, you're right. This does seem extremely iffy. But here are a couple of things to keep in mind that both validate and go against the video above.

Why it may not be real:
-College kids could've easily made this video as a gag.
-It's just random shots of crap. It can't be trailer.
-There's no big-named celebs.
-The acting looks a little iffy, so I'm not sure if it should be taken seriously.
-The Pokémon look fake.
-There's guns.

Why it may be real:
-The video was shot at a private screening.
-It could be test footage.
-They could easily have casted nobodies (which I think would be likely for a film like this).
-The fake looking Pokémon could be because the animation of the creatures is not yet complete and those are stand-ins, if you will. Those could also be the actual version of the Pokémon and it is meant to be for a very young audience.
-The guns could be there for demographic purposes. They want teenagers to watch.

Did you catch any of the characters? I spotted Ash, Jessie, James, and the man Team Rocket works for.

I honestly don't have an opinion on whether this video is the real deal or not. I want to say it is, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Regardless... this video is causing a lot of buzz (and I mean A LOT!), which means even if it is fake, a studio will see how much people are interested in seeing a live-action version and would definitely back it ASAP.

So we'll see. I'll keep ya posted.

Another Honey Sequel... hopefully.

Blog,Movies
Rumor has it...

Disney is interested in making a third sequel (fourth if you include 'The Audience' at Epcot in Disney World) to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids entitled Honey, I Shrunk the Groom. We heard that Disney was planning to remake Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, which I hated. Honey, I Shrunk is one of my favorite movies. Classic Disney live-action.

I would rather them make the sequel. It is even rumored that Rick Moranis is coming out of retirement to reprise his role in Ghostbusters 3 and may be interested in doing the Honey sequel. Exciting.

Either they make the sequel with Rick Moranis and the original cast from the series, or they shelf the entire thing. Sorry Disney, this is one movie I will not allow you to remake. Now get to work on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!
